Last day in Orange Walk Belize. Taking a water taxi today around 2:30 to the Island of Caye Caulker off the coast of Northern Belize. We will spend a day of much earned relaxation there tomorrow before heading back home on Saturday. What a great trip. I have learned so much from the people of Belize. They remind you of what is really important in life. Yesterday was a great day. We repaired over 10 computers and 6 laptops for teachers at 5 different schools. We also taught internet safety to a group of HS students at Bishop Martin HS. I am really going to miss these kids.

Long day in Belize. Went to 5 schools today fixing computers and working with students. The trip is exhausting and draining but so fulfilling working with these kids. What a country. Truly a mixture of all races. The people are so beautiful and no signs of prejudice. Even their water bottles say the Country of mixed races.
I love this place. I woke up to the hotel director who I met asking me if I wanted to have tacos. I have never ate tacos so good. Love you guys will blog tomorrow.

We went to three schools today, The kids loved learning about Web Browsing, Internet safety, and YES even HTML!!!!! You should have seen the look in their eyes and the smiles they had when they saw their WEB PAGES!!!!

What a weekend. We spent a day with a youth organization at the lagoon. Which was more like a lake. We were really impressed with the young speakers. they were so informed about their country. We spent Sunday at the Mayan ruin or Lamanai. It was quite an experience. We learned so much about that old culture and its customs. looking forward to working with the kids in the schools this week. It has been a great trip so far.

Gateway Technical College
has partnered with Peacework Development Fund Inc to support community development projects in a village in Belize.

Students from the Horticulture, Information Technology and Nursing programs will travel to Belize in January 2012 to help the community further projects like community gardens, repair and upgrade local school’s computers, and supporting local health clinics.
